RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's basketball team will play one more game at home before a two-game road swing as it welcomes in the Broncos of Boise State this Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. inside Lawlor Events Center.
The Wolf Pack is coming off of an impressive win over Colorado State on Wednesday. Nevada shot a season-high 50 percent from the field and led for over 38 minutes of the game. Sophomore
Essence Booker eclipsed 400 points in her Wolf Pack career during the game and led the team in scoring, tallying 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting. It was a pair of freshmen though that impressed for Nevada as Jená Williams and
Alyssa Jimenez both scored in double figures for the first time in their collegiate careers. Williams posted 15 points, hitting three 3-pointers, while Jimenez added 12 points and knocked down 4-of-6 from the field. The rookie duo also combined for nine assists to just one turnover in the win.
Boise State enters Saturday's game having lost two in a row, including a 74-61 decision at San Jose State on Wednesday. The Broncos still boast a 6-4 record in Mountain West play and sit fourth in the league standings. Reno native Mallory McGwire, who transferred to Boise State from Oregon, leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY
Nevada and Boise State is one of the longest running series' in program history. Saturday will mark the 60th meeting all-time between these two programs. It's been the Broncos though that have held a huge upper hand in the all-time series, winning 42 of the previous 59 contests. Boise State enters Saturday's game having won the last six games against Nevada. The Broncos also eliminated the Wolf Pack during the quarterfinals of last year's MW Championship.
NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY
Wolf Pack Athletics and Girls on the Run-Sierras will again join forces to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Lawlor Events Center on the campus of the University of Nevada.
The celebration will include a Family & Kids Fair featuring interactive booths and activities centered around the theme of health, fitness and sports as well as Nevada's popular All-Sports Clinic which features stations with Wolf Pack student-athletes teaching and demonstrating their sports to children. Both the fair and all-sports clinic to take place on the upper concourse at Lawlor Events Center prior to Nevada's women's basketball game vs. Boise State that day.
The fair and all-sports clinic will start at 11:30 a.m. and run until the women's basketball game tips off against the Broncos at 1 p.m.

Marguerite Effa has really picked up her play as of late. The Los Angeles, Calif. native had the game of her career vs. SJSU. Effa totaled 31 points and 15 rebounds, both of which are career highs, to post her second double-double of the season. She was nearly unstoppable as she connected on 71.4 percent of her shots, hitting 15-of-21, setting career highs there too. Effa is now just the fifth player in the Mountain West this season to score 30+ points in a single game. She is the only player to score 30+ points in a single game and record a double-double while doing so. Effa has now scored in double figures in six of her last seven games and is averaging 17.0 points per game in that span.
CAN YOU ASSIST ME?
The Wolf Pack has been one of the best teams in the Mountain West in terms of sharing the basketball. Heading into Saturday's game against Boise State, Nevada ranks fifth in the conference in assists per game, averaging 14.10 per game. The Pack has dished out at least 10 assists in all but three of its 21 games, including a 20-assist game at Portland State. Nevada is led in the assist department by one of its newcomers in junior
Miki'ala Maio. Maio has 49 assists on the year. It's freshman
Alyssa Jimenez though who has the best assist to turnover ratio on the team, boasting a ratio of 2.7 this season.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT IMANI
Sophomore
Imani Lacy has quietly been one of the most consistent Wolf Pack players through 21 games this season. She has scored 13 points, her highest scoring output since Dec. 14, in back-to-back games. Lacy currently ranks third on the team averaging 10.7 points per game. She has really improved her free throw shooting and shot blocking this season as well as she ranks eighth in the MW in free throw percentage (69.2) and is second in blocked shots per game (1.47 bpg).
UP NEXT: ROAD WARRIORS
It's back to the road for the Wolf Pack as it will head to Colorado Springs, Colo. to face Air Force next Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m. PT and will head straight to San Jose, Calif. from Colorado and take on the Spartans of SJSU next Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. The Spartans have been the surprise team in the Mountain West this season. SJSU was predicted to finish last in the conference standings this year but is currently 9-1 in league play and in second place behind Fresno State.
