SENIOR (2019-20) – Played in all 31 games during her lone season with the Wolf Pack and made 14 starts … Earned her first start for Nevada in the home win over Cal Poly (12/28) … Averaged 18.2 minutes per game, including a season-high 35 minutes in the overtime loss against SJSU (1/8) … Totaled 349 points on the year to average 11.3 points per game, which ranked third on the team … Scored in double figures in 15 of the team’s 31 contests … Grabbed 170 rebounds to average a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game … Added 24 assists, 18 steals and 13 blocks … Shot 54.4 percent (143-of-263) from the field, which led the team and ranked second in the Mountain West … Hit three 3-pointers on the year and connected on 75.0 percent (60-of-80) from the free throw line … Recorded two double-doubles, one in the win over Sacramento State (11/9) with 18 points and 12 rebounds and the second at home against SJSU (1/8) with 31 points and 15 rebounds, both season highs … Had one 30-point performance and two 20-point games … In her 31-point game against SJSU, she finished 15-of-21 from the field ... Academic All-Mountain West selection and was named a MW Scholar-Athlete.
PRIOR TO NEVADA – Graduate transfer from USC, where she played three seasons for the Trojans … Redshirted during the 2018-19 season … Played in 62 games, averaged over seven minutes a game and shot above 45 percent from the field … Her best season was her freshman year in 2015-16 where she averaged 2.4 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game … Career-high of nine points also came during her freshman season against Hope International.
HIGH SCHOOL – Two-time pick as the Los Angeles City Section Player of the Year out of Fairfax High School ... Averaged 23.4 points and 12.2 rebounds during her four years at Fairfax ... Helped her team to a conference championship in 2015 … Played club for California Basketball Club.
PERSONAL – Born Marguerite Manuela Effa Mfegue in Cameroon ... Earned her bachelor’s degree in non-governmental organization and social change from USC … Pursuing her master’s in business administration … Would like to play basketball overseas and own a non-profit organization after college … Daughter of Parfait Effa … Her father, Parfait, competed in the Olympics in judo in 2000 … Enjoys reading and meditating in her free time ... Lists Kobe Bryant as her sports hero … Chose Nevada because “I felt like it was a perfect fit for me, not only as a player, but also school wise. The atmosphere when visiting campus and talking with everyone was really inviting. The team, coaches and staff were great and easy to talk to. I feel like coming to Nevada I will have a big impact and we can win conference and make the NCAA Tournament.”
