JUNIOR (2019-20) –
Played in 28 of the Wolf Pack’s 31 games during her first season at Nevada and made 12 starts … Earned her first Division I start in the season opening win over Saint Mary’s (11/5) … Averaged 19.5 minutes per game, including a season-high 32 minutes in the overtime loss against SJSU (1/8) … Totaled 166 points on the year to average 5.9 points per game and grabbed 60 rebounds to average 2.1 rebounds per game … Scored in double figures in six games, including the season opener and the season finale … Posted a season-high 20-point game on the road at Colorado State (1/1) where she was 10-of-14 from the field and recorded seven rebounds … Added 20 steals, three blocks and 68 assists, which ranked second on the team … Posted a six-assist performance, a season high, in the home win over Utah State (1/11) … Shot 43.0 percent (74-of-172) from the field, 15.8 percent (3-of-19) from the 3-point line and 93.8 percent (15-of-16) from the free throw line … Had an eight-rebound game in the win over Sacramento State (11/9) to set a season high ... Academic All-Mountain West.

PRIOR TO NEVADA – Transfer from Salt Lake Community College where she played for two seasons … Helped the Bruins win 51 games in that span … In her two seasons the Bruins claimed back-to-back Region 18 titles, advancing to the NJCAA tournament both years … Received NJCAA All-America second team honors and was named the Region 18 MVP her sophomore season … Ranked second on the Bruins averaging 12.9 points per game and shot 43.6 percent from the field in 2018-19 … For her career, played in 61 games for SLCC and scored 12.0 points per game and added 4.5 rebounds per contest … Connected on 44.0 percent of her shots and totaled 158 assists and 102 steals in two years.

HIGH SCHOOL – Graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in Kalihi, O’ahu where she was a two-sport athlete in basketball and track & field … Was named the ILH Player of the Year in 2016-17 and first team All-Hawai’i … Also selected to the second team All-Hawai’i in 2015-16 and was a three-time ILH second team pick … Took second place in the triple jump and third in the 4x100 in 2016 … Named the Cal Hawai’i Invitation Most Outstanding Female Field Events in 2017 … Helped her team win a track & field championship in 2013 … Played AAU for Kalakaua Hawai’i, PROformance Hawai’i, and CentralSide Hawai’i.

PERSONAL – Born Miki’ala Polina Victoria Maio in Nanakuli, O’ahu (Hawai’i) … Daughter of Wendy and Paul Maio … Has an older sister, Lilia, younger sister, Lahela, and younger brother, Noa … Her father, Paul, played football at Dixie State and her older sister, Lilia, played basketball at Chaminade University … Earned an associate’s degree in general studies from Salt Lake Community College … Majoring in sports journalism … Would like to play professionally or become a sports agent after college … Chose Nevada because she really connected with the coaching staff and players and felt like she would fit right in to their program and be part of something special … Also recruited by UTRGV, Utah State, San Diego, San Diego State, Alaska Anchorage and Eastern Washington … Lists Maya Moore and Lebron James as her sports heroes … The most memorable moment of her pre-Nevada career was watching the clock tick down in the 2019 region championship and running over to the bench to celebrate with her teammates … Enjoys going to the beach, hanging out with friends and family, watching The Office, and volunteering in her free time.
