Ader and Sauer named MW track & field athletes of the week

RENO, Nev. – After a successful first indoor meet of the season, junior Nicola Ader and senior Karoline Sauer have been named Mountain West women's track and field athletes of the week.

Ader received the honor in the field events category after earning first place in the high jump at the Bronco Invitational with a height of 1.82 meters. That height was only 0.01m lower than the Nevada all-time record, which she owns.

Ader also had success in the track events, especially in the 60m hurdles. Ader broke the school record in the event with a time of 8.46, which earned her second place.

Sauer earned her award in the track events category after winning the 600m run with a time of 1:31.97. At the Bronco Invitational, Sauer just passed her opponents as she beat the second place runner by only 0.46 seconds.

With her finish, Sauer also broke the school record in the event. With her first place finish and record breaking time, there were three first place finishes and two all-time school records broken in the first meet of the season.

The Pack will look to continue its success as they travel back to Boise this week when it competes in the Ed Jacoby Invitational from Jan. 24-25.
