SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Nevada women's track and field team wrapped up its final day of the NCAA West Preliminaries today with a pair of top-20 finishes in the 400 meter hurdles and steeplechase.
In the 400m hurdles, junior
Karoline Sauer clocked a time of 58.68 seconds to finish 18th in the event. The time is just a hair off of her 58.42 second finish from yesterday, which broke her own school record. Prior to this week, the two-time defending Mountain West champion in the event had never run under 59 seconds in her Nevada career.
Senior
Lindsey Sickler completed her collegiate career in the steeplechase with a time of 10:09.02 to finish 18th. The time and finish are both improvements from her NCAA West Prelims appearance last season, where she finished 25th with a time of 10:16.22.
Junior
Gaby Palmer's All-Mountain West season came to a close today, as the Reno native no heighted in the pole vault.
The Pack's season will continue in Austin, Texas for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships from June 5-8. Sophomore
Nicola Ader will be the Pack's lone representative. Ader qualified for the meet in the high jump and long jump yesterday, after qualifying for the heptathlon during the regular season.
