Last chance to register for Drivers and Spikes golf tournament

RENO, Nev. – Only a handful of spots remain for the fifth annual Drivers and Spikes golf tournament, presented by Dixie May, which benefits the women's golf, women's cross country and track & field programs at the University of Nevada.

The fundraiser is scheduled for June 17 at Hidden Valley Country Club. To reserve your spot, call (775) 682-6901.

The event is set to start at 12 p.m. Cost to play is $125 for an individual and $500 for a foursome. A post round meal along with awards and tee prizes will follow the round. The annual charity tournament provides necessary support to the Wolf Pack women's golf and track & field programs, which combine for more than 60 student-athletes.

"I look forward to this tournament every year," said head women's golf coach Kathleen Takaishi. "It has grown into such an amazing event and is not only a wonderful fundraiser for our programs, but has become a great way for us to connect with the community as well."

Head track & field coach Shantel Twiggs echoed Takaishi's sentiments.

"We are excited to host Drivers and Spikes again in 2019 at Hidden Valley. It's the one event that we host with women's golf to directly impact our program's bottom line and affect the lives of our young people," said Twiggs. "It's great to have an amazing time and support these two programs by playing in our tournament or to be a sponsor!"
