RENO, Nev. - Coming off of a conference sweep over the New Mexico Lobos, the Nevada softball team is looking to carry the momentum into a three-game series with San Diego State. The Pack is currently 20-12, 5-1 in MW play while the Aztecs are 15-19 and 3-6 in conference. This is the best conference start Nevada has had since joining the Mountain West in 2013.
The games are set for first pitch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday with all times in PT. All three of the games will be live streamed via Mountain West Network along with live stats available through nevadawolfpack.com/softballls.
Last week Nevada had its first conference sweep since the 2017 season against Colorado State and also marked the conference sweep on the road since 2014 in Logan, Utah against Utah State. The team posted season highs in the Sunday contest with 21 runs, 16 hits, 34 total bases and 20 RBIs. The series also pushed Nevada to 20 wins marking the third consecutive year with at least that many wins.

Ashley Salausa and
Alyssa Mendez led the team on the week combining to go 15 of 24 with 14 runs, four doubles and four home runs. The three also combined for 15 RBI and 31 total bases.
Following the weekend, the Pack has come in at sixth in the nation in double per game with a 1.84 average; currently the team has 59 on the season. Joining the offense on the national ranking board is the pitching staff who is sitting at 33rd in the nation for strikeout-to-walk ratio with 2.82.
The pitching staff has combined for 220 strikeouts to lead Mountain West with freshman
Kendall Fritz leading the way with 93 personal strikeouts.
Julia Jensen is not far behind though after having a career outing against the Lobos and recording 15 strikeouts in a single game. The sophomore now averages 7.3 per game and has 71 on the year.
SDSU is offensively led by Taylor Adams who is sporting a .347 clips and leads the team in hits (34), RBIs (17) and total bases (48). The Aztecs currently are hitting with a .252 average in comparison to the .304 the Pack has and is sitting with a 4.39 ERA with the Pack at a 3.00 even.
The Aztecs pitching staff is led by Marissa who has 23 appearances on the year with 12 starts and four complete games. The junior also leads the staff with 85.2 innings pitched and 78 strikeouts to go along with two shutouts that came over UC Santa Barbara and Nebraska in non-conference play.
