FAIRFAX, Calif. – The Nevada women's golf team concluded its run at the Meadow Club Collegiate and finished in 11
th place.
On a day with tough scoring conditions, the Wolf Pack combined for a team score of 309 on the final day of the tournament. Nevada finished seven strokes ahead of fellow Mountain West member Boise State to claim the 11
th position. Rutgers claimed the team title by just two shots over runner-up California. The third conference foe entered in the event, San Jose State, placed third.
Individually for the Pack, freshman
Victoria Gailey led the team for the seventh time this season and tied for 39
th place. Gailey struggled in the final round, shooting a 78, but still remained the top Wolf Pack finisher at 10-over par for the tournament. Senior
Kaitlin Collom carded the low Pack round of the afternoon with a 3-over 75. She jumped five spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 46
th.
Elsewhere for Nevada, junior
Katy Rutherford earned a tie for 53
rd, although her score did not count towards the overall team score since Rutherford was entered as an individual. Rutherford shot a 5-over 77 in the final round and finished at 13-over par. Just behind Rutherford was senior
Chaithra Katamneni, who grabbed sole possession of 56
th. Freshman
Danni Ujimori and junior
Jenny Krause both tied for 61
st to round out the Pack lineup.
Nevada will return to the course for its final regular season tune up prior to the Mountain West Championship on April 1-2 at the Fresno State Classic.
