NEVADA READY TO FACE HEAD COACH T.J. BRUCE'S ALMA MATER

Boasting its best start since 2015 with a 3-1 record, Nevada will head to Long Beach State to face the Dirtbags in a three-game series this Friday through Sunday ... Ā LBSU looks to grab its first win of the season, after being swept by Florida and losing to the University of San Diego to open the year ... All three games will be available via live stream on the BigWest.Tv network ... John Ramey, Jamie Holloway and Ghizal Hasan will each take a day calling the game on the radio for the Pack on 94.1 FM/1450 AM ... After batting .500 through the first four games of the season, sophomore Joshua Zamora had led the charge offensively for the Pack by leading the team with nine hits, 14 total bases and a .778 slugging percentage ... Weston Hatten has also shown bright for the Pack, batting .429 with two doubles and a triple ... Nevada opened the year with a huge 16-4 blowout of No. 24 Missouri State, as junior Ryan Anderson picked up the victory after pitching five innings with six strikeouts ... Against Texas State in the second game of their tournament, freshman Owen Sharts pulled off a seven inning shutout victory in the Pack's 4-0 victory over the Bobcats ... On Tuesday, infielders Tyler Bosetti and Dillan Shrum played hero for the Pack by recording two, two-out RBI in the ninth inning to win the contest 5-4 at UC Davis ... Head coach T.J. Bruce and assistant Abe Alvarez will be returning to their alma mater this weekend, after each played for the Dirtbags in college ... Bruce competed for Long Beach State as a senior in 2004, while Alvarez posted a 23-5 record in three seasons there while being named one of the 30 greatest Dirtbags of all-time ... LBSU holds a team ERA of 3.00 and batting average of .180 ... The Dirtbag's leading slugger, Santino Rivera, is currently slashing .417 with five hits, one RBI and five total bases ... LBSU has only mustered three runs scored this season ... Basilio Pacheco has been the best pitcher this season for LBSU thus far, posting a 0.00 ERA in 5.1 innings pitched and two appearances ... This will be Nevada's first game against the Dirtbags since 2000, when Nevada took 5-of-6 games from the Dirtbags including a 14-0 victory in their last meeting ... LBSU leads the all-time series against the Pack 17-16.
