Utah State and Boise State are slated to visit Virginia Street Gym

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada volleyball team is looking to bounce back after a tough week on the road. The Wolf Pack (14-8, 4-6) is set to host the Utah State Aggies on Thursday, Oct. 31 before the Broncos of Boise State come to Virginia Street Gym on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Last week the Pack fell to Wyoming and No. 14 Colorado State in straights sets but hoping a visit to the home court of Virginia Street Gym will help turn it around. Currently, Dalyn Burns leads the team and the Mountain West in assists with 831 while Kayla Afoa leads the conference with 341 points along with 292 kills. Defensively, freshman Sydney Petersen is second in conference with 114 blocks which is best on the Nevada team.

Boise State is currently sitting in fourth place in the Mountain West with notable wins over Fresno State and Air Force while taking Colorado State to five sets in Boise, Idaho. The Broncos (14-7, 6-2) are led offensively by Janell Walley (247) and Lauren Ohlinger (211) who are the only Broncos to tally over 200 kills on the season.

Defensively, Boise State features Jessica Donahue up front, who has record 120 blocks this season to lead the Mountain West while Allison Casillas leads in digs with 252. As a team, Boise State is hitting a .221 while only allowing a .186 opponent hitting percentage. On defense, the Broncos lead the conference in total blocks with 240 while Nevada sits in fifth with 190.
Utah State (2-20, 2-8) is led in kills by Bailey Downing with 130, while Heidi Carpenter leads with 22 service aces and accounts for 433 of the teams 693 assists. On defense, Downing leads with 89 blocks but Grace DuBay had 254 digs on the year.
