RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is set to compete in its final event of the 2019 fall season as it heads to southern Nevada and the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
 
This final tournament of the fall season will get underway on Sunday from Boulder Creek Golf Club in Henderson, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas. The event is a three-day tournament with 18 holes to be played each day on the par 72 course. This year marks the seventh consecutive trip to this event for Nevada. The Pack has played well here in the past, setting multiple team records during its run in 2015.
 
The field next week will feature 18 teams, which is the amount the Pack squared off against in its last tournament where it placed third. Along with Nevada, four other Mountain West teams will be entered into the event, including Colorado State, Fresno State, Wyoming and tournament host UNLV. The Wolf Pack will have the chance to see where it stacks up around the conference as the fall season draws to a close.
 
For the first time this season the Nevada lineup will look a little different. Head coach Kathleen Takaishi will send four golfers who have played in all three events so far (Victoria Gailey, Katy Rutherford, Jenny Krause, Danni Ujimori) to the tournament, but has added freshman Anitra Khoth to the lineup as well. It will be the first event of Khoth's collegiate career. Out of the five scheduled to compete for the Wolf Pack, two are tied for the team lead in stroke average three events into the season. Gailey and Ujimori enter next week's tournament both averaging 73.0 strokes per round, with Ujimori claiming two top 10 finishes.
