RENO, Nev. – Nevada (2-7, 1-1 MW) will hit the road this weekend for the first time in five matches to face Mountain West foes New Mexico (5-4, 1-1 MW) and San Diego State (2-6-1, 1-1 MW). The Wolf Pack will battle the Lobos on Friday at 6:30 p.m. PT and the Aztecs on Sunday at 12 p.m. PT.
Nevada is coming off a dramatic 1-0 double overtime victory against Utah State where
Gabby Brown drilled the game-winning goal in the 105th minute of play. Brown currently leads all of Division I with 6.29 shots per game and is second in the conference with 44 this season.
Brown has been Nevada's biggest offensive threat this season as she leads the team with three goals and seven points. Her 19 shots and 9.50 per game rank first in conference play, and as a team, Nevada ranks tied for second with 39 shots and 19.50 per game in MW action.
On the defensive side,
Kendal Stovall has been dominant in her sophomore season as she is second in the Mountain West with 49 saves this year. She leads conference play with a .920 save percentage and She is second with 12 saves in the MW.
The Lobos are 5-4 on the season, but have outplayed their opposition by scoring 11 goals while only allowing six. Additionally, New Mexico has
outshot its opponents 131-88 on the year.
All 11 of its goals have come from only six different players, with five of them having scored twice.
Jadyn Edwards leads the way with six points for the Lobos, boasting two goals and two assists on the year. Gwen
Maly leads the team with 23 shots and has also scored twice this season.
The Lobos have only allowed one goal in conference play this season while having scored three. They have used two goalkeepers this season, with
Malia Vanisi getting a majority of the starts with seven. Total, the Lobos boast a .854 save percentage, while
Vanisi has posted three shutouts while allowing five goals.
The Wolf Pack has never defeated the Aztecs in its program history, sitting 0-8 all time including 0-5 in San Diego. They have allowed 16 goals this season compared to only scoring seven, and have accumulated just 93 shots on the season thus far.
Brooke Lisowski has played all 830 minutes in goal for SDSU, with a 1.73 goals against average and a .652 save percentage. She has made 30 saves this season.
