Nevada tied for fourth after 36 holes in Washington

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Playing in its largest field of the season thus far, the Nevada women's golf team finds itself tied for fourth place after 36 holes of the Harbottle Invitational.

The Wolf Pack combined for a team score of 298 in the first round but then shaved eight strokes off its second round score to post a season-low 290. Nevada is currently at 12-over par for the tournament, tied with Cal State Fullerton for fourth in the 18-team field. The Pack is just one shot back of jumping into the runner-up spot. Gonzaga leads the field at 8-under par and is the only team under par.

Leading the way for Nevada on the first day was sophomore Victoria Gailey. Gailey turned in a 2-over 74 in the morning, but rebounded to post a 2-under 70 in the second round, tying her season low round. Gailey is tied for eighth place at even par heading into Tuesday's final round. She was perfect in the second round, making two birdies and no bogeys.

Sitting just behind Gailey is fellow sophomore Danni Ujimori, who is currently 1-over par for the tournament and in a tie for 12th place. Ujimori carded a 2-under 70 in the opening round and finished with a 75 in round two. Senior Jenny Krause improved her scores from round one to round two, shooting a 75 in the morning and then an even par 72 in the afternoon. Krause enters the final round in a tie for 16th place.

Nevada has two tied for 50th with 18 holes remaining in the 95-player field. Freshman Leah John and senior Katy Rutherford had an almost identical day as both of them carded a 79 in the first round and rebounded in round two to post a 74.

Quynn Duong of Gonzaga leads the individual field at 6-under par, three shots better than Carmen Belmonte of Grand Canyon.
