RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's basketball coach Amanda Levens has announced the hiring of Brittany Aikens and former Wolf Pack student-athlete Halie Bergman as the program's graduate assistants.
 
"Halie and Brittany will both be great additions to our program," said Levens. "Having played at Nevada, Halie understands the ins and outs of our program and can be a great extension of our coach staff. Brittany is familiar with our conference and brings a different perspective coming from a teaching background. Both young women strengthen our staff and program. Nevada women's basketball is grateful to have them."
 
Aikens comes to Reno after earning her teaching certificate from Cal State San Bernardino earlier this year. She played college basketball at Fresno State from 2013-16 and saw time on the floor in over 60 games. During her senior season, she made 18 starts and averaged a career-high 6.2 points per game. Playing 25 minutes per game, Aikens hit nearly 40 percent of her field goals and dished out over 70 assists. She began her college career at Howard Junior College before transferring to Fresno State. Aikens was born in Las Vegas but grew up outside of San Antonio, Texas.
 
Bergman is no stranger to the Nevada women's basketball program having spent the last four years as a student-athlete for the Pack. A transfer from Pacific, Bergman played three full seasons for Nevada and saw time in 95 games. During her senior year, she started in all but one contest and averaged 6.4 points per game while hitting a career-best 44 3-pointers and dishing out a career-high 58 assists. Bergman ranks 10^th in program history with 114 3-pointers made in her career. She is a native of Turlock, Calif.
