RENO, Nev. – Finishing its three-match homestand, the Wolf Pack (6-7, 0-2 MW) fell to intrastate rival UNLV on Sunday 6-1. Nevada will hit the road to play two more conference matches next weekend, facing San Diego State and San Jose State.
The Pack clinched the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead, but the Rebels swept the singles matches to emerge victorious in Reno.
Freshmen Lili Fekete and Melissa Huchet helped the Pack start the day right, winning 6-3 on court No. 2 for the first doubles victory of the day. Junior Adriana Gergelyova and freshman Anastaysha Gorbacheva clinched the doubles point and gave Nevada a 1-0 victory with a 6-3 win on court No. 3.
The Rebels came away with all six singles victories, all coming in straight sets. The clinching victory came on court No. 3 where En-Pei Huang defeated Blaga Delich 6-2, 6-4.
The Wolf Pack will return home on April 20 when it faces UC Davis at 9 a.m. and Portland State at 1 p.m.
