Pack set to play first game on Don Weir Field hosting SJSU for a three-game MW series this weekend

First pitch for all three games is 1 p.m.

The Nevada (5-6, 2-1 MW) baseball team will play its home opener on newly named Don Weir Field at Peccole Park this weekend hosting San Jose State (6-6, 0-2 MW) in a three-game Mountain West Series.  All three games of the series are scheduled to start at 1 p.m.  The Pack will look to continue its hot start in MW play after winning two at MW preseason favorite New Mexico last weekend.

Opponents This Week: The Wolf Pack will end its 11-game road stretch this week when it hosts San José State at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park ... The Spartans come to Reno batting .259 as a team and are led by Kyle Morrison, who is hitting .308 on the season ... SJSU holds a team ERA of 6.23, with their most innings coming from Nicholas Morales who has tossed 14.2 and has an ERA of 6.75 ... In conference play this season, SJSU sits at 0-2 after two home losses to San Diego State ... Chris Williams and Brett Bautista, two outfielders for the Spartans, are batting .429 in Mountain West  Play ... Kellen Strahm and Sawyer Pittman of the Spartans each have three steals this season, tied for second-most among MW players ... Sacramento State will host Nevada on Tuesday and holds a batting average of .215 heading into the weekend ...
