POSTSEASON RUN
The sentiment around the Wolf Pack as it headed into the MW Tournament was 'why not us?' As the team's first WBI appearance continues onward, the sentiment remains true. Why can't Nevada win its first ever postseason tournament? To get to this point, the Wolf Pack needed a big push at the end of the season. Nevada is 6-1 in its last seven games which has led to the Pack's first winning record in four years at 18-16. Of those six wins, Nevada twice knocked off instate rival UNLV, twice defeated San Diego State and upset No. 3 Wyoming in the MW Tournament.
ZELLER AND REDMON RECOGNIZED FOR ACADEMICS
Senior
Teige Zeller and junior
Jade Redmon were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second team for the first time in their careers. They are the first Nevada student-athletes to earn a selection to the all-district team since Anna DuBois (track & field) in 2016. Additionally they represented the only Mountain West school on the second team.
1,000 AND COUNTING
Coming into the MW Tournament, senior
T Moe needed 11 points with at least one game remaining to reach 1,000 for her career. Moe played the games of her life all week long and is now at 1,085 points and counting. The California native is averaging 19.2 points per game in her last five contests.
SEEING DOUBLE
Senior
Teige Zeller has been a double-double machine this season, collecting her 12th of the year last time out against UC Irvine. The New Mexico native scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Following her 17-point effort against the Anteaters, she has scored in double figures in 22 of her last 23 games. The double-double vs. UC Irvine was the 15th's of Zeller's career, which means she has more than doubled her double-double output from her previous three seasons.
STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
Nevada has 11 teams on its schedule this season who participated in postseason tournaments last year, including four who made the NCAA Tournament. Boise State, the favorite this year in the Mountain West, Â UConn, which enters the season ranked No. 1 in the nation, Oregon State and Montana State competed in the NCAA Tournament.
