TUCSON, Ariz. – The Nevada women's tennis team (1-2) dropped its first of two matches this weekend in Tucson when it fell 5-2 to the University of Arizona (6-0) on Friday.

The Wolf Pack will battle 5-0 University of Houston tomorrow on the Lanelle Robson Tennis Courts at Arizona.

The day started out with three doubles matches that resulted in three victories for the Wildcats. The deciding match came on court No. 3, when freshmen Anastaysha Gorbacheva and Maria Tatarnikova fell 6-2 to Arizona's Marie Van Aelst and Gitte Heynemans. Coupled with a victory on court No. 2, the Wildcats would begin singles play up 1-0 over the Wolf Pack.

Senior Claudia Herrero tied the match 1-1 after a victory on court No. 1, defeating Devin Chypyha 6-4, 6-3. Herrero leads the team with three victories in dual play, all of which have come on court No. 1.

Arizona would win the next three matches, including Gitte Heynemans downing Lili Fekete 6-1, 7-5 on court No. 5 to clinch the match for Arizona. Senior Blaga Delic's match was the only one to go three sets, but she came out of it with a 7-6, 1-6, 10-4 victory over Camila Wesbrooks on court No. 3 to give the Pack its second and final point of the match.
