Claudia Herrero clinched the victory for the Wolf Pack on court No. 1 during singles play.
Nevada began its day securing the doubles point and a 1-0 lead, starting with Herrero and senior
Blaga Delic's 6-3 victory on court No. 1 over Ana Loaiza and Carolina Chemyersky. The freshman tandem of
Maria Tatarnikova and
Lili Fekete came up huge for the Pack with a point-clinching 6-4 victory over Sofi Wicker and Sonya Gulnova on court 3 to give Nevada the doubles point.
Freshman
Melissa Huchet was the first member of the Pack to finish her singles match, defeating Shamika Ohar 6-3, 6-2 on court 4. Delic's 7-5, 7-5 court 3 win against Maria Gonzalez gave Nevada a 3-0 lead. The Hornets would make it 3-1 after
Adriana Gergelyova fell in a tight 7-6, 6-3 battle on court 2, but Herrero clinched shortly after on court 1 in three sets over Loaiza 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
Sacramento State earned two more victories on courts 5 and 6, but the Pack still emerged victorious with a final score of 4-3. Nevada will be back in action next Friday at the University of Arizona.
