RIVERSIDE, Calif. – After the first two rounds of its spring season at the Battle at the Rock, the Nevada women's golf team sits in fifth place.
The Wolf Pack carded team rounds of 297 and 296 on the day and is at 17-over par for the tournament with one round remaining. Of the 14 competing teams not one finished the first day under par. UC Davis is the clubhouse leader at 5-over and leads by four shots over Hawai'i. Nevada is within striking distance of the top three as it trails tournament host UC Riverside by six shots and trails Stetson for fourth by two.

Katy Rutherford and junior
Chaithra Katamneni lead the way in a tie for 14
th. Rutherford and Katamneni each totaled a 147 after 36 holes, good for a 3-over par score. Each of them also carded rounds of 74 and 73 on Monday, just in reverse order. Rutherford, who is making her season debut at this event, made eight birdies on the day and had just one real blemish with a triple bogey on the par 3 fifth in her first round. Katamneni on the other hand totaled six birdies throughout her rounds and did not do any worse than one double bogey on the par 3 14
th in the afternoon.
Elsewhere throughout the Pack lineup, senior
Celyn Khoo sits at 5-over par with rounds of 74 and 75 today and is tied for 21
st in the 81-player field. It was a solid day for Khoo who made just one double bogey and three birdies. Sophomore
Jenny Krause is one shot behind Khoo at 6-over and tied for 28
th. Krause totaled a two-round score of 150 after she carded a 76 in the morning and improved to shoot a 74 in the afternoon. Senior
Jordan Keyser rounds out the Wolf Pack lineup in a tie for 32
nd after rounds of 76 and 75 and sits at 7-over par. Junior
Kaitlin Collom also competed but as an individual and is tied for 76
th.
Of the 81 competitors, just eight finished day one at par or better. Hana Furuichi of UC Riverside, who leads the field at 4-under par, will take a one-shot lead over three players into Tuesday's final round.
