Nevada continues road-swing at UNLV

RENO, Nev. – The Nevada volleyball team continues on the road with the next stop being Las Vegas, Nev. The Wolf Pack (8-8, 1-4) will meet with the UNLV Rebels (12-5, 3-2) on Saturday evening, Oct. 6 for the first in-state matchup of the season.

The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT on the Mountain West Network. The Rebels lead the all-time series, 21-10, but the Wolf Pack has won three of the last four matchups including the last meeting in Las Vegas.

Nevada is looking to bounce back after falling to the New Mexico Lobos on Thursday night in a five –set match, 3-2. Sophomore McKayla Wuensch got the start and collected her first double-double on the season while picking up career highs in assists and digs. Junior Shiloh Peleras also recorded a career high in block assists.

Against the Lobos, the Pack tallied 12 blocks, a season high with one more than the 11 that was put up against Colorado State.
Looking at the opponent, UNLV picked up its third conference win on Thursday night in a four set match against San Jose State and currently is 7-1 at home.

The Pack defense continues to produce a conference leading number of digs with a 16.10 average per set while the Rebels sit in fourth with 14.73 average. However UNLV leads the conference in kills with 849 while Nevada has 743.

Following this match the Pack continue on the road at San Jose State on Tuesday and at Air Force on Saturday. Nevada returns to home play on Oct. 12 against conference leader Fresno State.
