RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's swimming and diving team are back on the road for two dual meets over the weekend. The Pack first travel to Davis, Calif. for a meet against UC Davis on Friday, Oct. 26, before heading to Fresno, Calif. for a meet with Fresno State on Saturday.
The Pack are coming off an open weekend but its last time in the pool saw a team victory at the Pacific Invite. Nevada won the invitational with a score of 845.5 points, finishing ahead of host team Pacific and Mountain West competitors in New Mexico and San Jose State.
Following that meet junior
Andressa Cholodovskis claimed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week and the Wolf Pack Student Athlete of the Week. The Brazil native won each of her four individual events along with two relay wins for six total.
The meet against UC Davis will mark the first time the entire team has traveled, including divers. This will also mark the first scored event for the Pack divers. They will be competing in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Nevada currently has a 7-3 dual record against UC Davis with the last win in Davis coming on November 8, 2014 with the score 171.5 to 126.5. The two have met since with the most recent being at the 2017 Nevada Relays, where Nevada finished first and UC Davis finished third.
Last week, Fresno State competed in the CSUB Sprint Classic where they took fourth overall, finishing ahead of CSU Bakersfield. The two teams met last year in a dual meet where the Pack hosted and took the win, 174-109 before matching up again at the Mountain West Championships. The Bulldogs claimed seventh at the championship where the Pack came in third.
