RENO, Nev. – The Nevada volleyball team is back on the road for two contests before returning home on Nov. 1. The Pack take on the Boise State Broncos on Thursday, Oct. 25 with a 6:30 p.m. PT first serve time.
Boise State enters the contest 13-8 overall and 5-5 in conference play where Nevada is 8-13 with a 1-9 record in the Mountain West. The Broncos picked up two wins over Utah State in Logan, Utah and a home match over Air Force, both in five sets. The Pack fell to the Mountain West leader Fresno State on Thursday before dropping a battle against San Diego State on Saturday.
This match continues the three-game home-stand that Boise State is currently on. The Broncos are currently 5-3 at home while the Pack is 1-9 on the road and is looking to pick up momentum.
Sophomore
Kayla Afoa continues to be a work horse especially after posting her 12th double-double of the season against San Diego State and her third in a row. However, outside hitter
Kili Robins and middle
Shiloh Peleras have added some depth on the attack. With the return of
Sam Hayward and the time
Camryn Rocha has spent on the floor in her absence, it has allowed head coach
Lee Nelson some rotation options.
The Broncos will lean offensively on Sabryn Roberts, who has over 300 kills on the year (306) for an average per set of 3.83. Defensively, Jessica Donahue has an astounding 85.0 blocks for a 1.35 per set average.
Boise State currently leads the Mountain West in attacks per set with 35.40 but Nevada sits in second with 35.20, making this an offense driven match.
The match will be streamed on the Mountain West Network. Fans can also view it through NevadaWolfPack.tv, follow live stats or get updated through Twitter with @PackVB.
