Nevada is set to host Mountain West leader Fresno State

RENO, Nev. – The Nevada volleyball team is looking to end a four game skid when it hosts the Mountain West leader, Fresno State (14-6, 6-1). The match is set for Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. PT in Virginia Street Gym.

This match marks the 53rd meeting between the teams with Nevada leading the series, 27-25. Last year the squads split the season with the Pack winning the last meeting, 3-0 in Reno.

Nevada currently has two of the conference's top-10 diggers in senior Mo Maluotoga (fifth with 3.89 average) and sophomore Kayla Afoa (ninth with 3.05 average). With the help of the duo, the team currently ranks second for team digs with an average per set of 15.37.

The Bulldogs currently sit atop of the Mountain West after picking up two wins this past week over UNLV and New Mexico. Fresno State is 4-2 on the road and 6-1 in conference with its only Mountain West road loss to Boise State.

Mountain West announced the Bulldog middle blocker, Hailie Watson, the Defensive Player of the Week after her performance over the weekend. The senior recorded 10 blocks within the two matches and helped Fresno State hold its opponents to a .164 hitting percentage.
