RENO, Nev. – After another impressive week and helping to lead Nevada to its first Mountain West win of the season, senior
Teige Zeller has been named the Bradley, Drendel & Jeanney Athlete of the Week.
Zeller notched two double-doubles between the Wolf Pack's two games last week, pouring in 20 points and adding 12 rebounds in the win over Fresno State and 12 points and 11 rebounds in a near road win at New Mexico. For the week she averaged 16.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. She has recorded four double-doubles in her last five games.
She helped Nevada to its fifth win in a row and first conference victory last Thursday after the Pack took down Fresno State, 90-73, and snapped a nine-game losing skid to the Bulldogs. Additionally she was lights out from the floor, connecting on 13-of-21 of her shot attempts, good for nearly 62 percent shooting. Zeller was also perfect from the free throw line for the week, hitting 6-of-6.
Heading into Wednesday's game at Wyoming, Zeller ranks ninth in scoring in the MW (13.9 ppg) and is tied for fifth in rebounding (7.7 rpg). She is shooting 54.7 percent on the year, third best in the league and 51
st in the nation. She is also second in the conference in offensive rebounds, grabbing 3.3 per game.
