RENO, Nev. – Senior Claudia Herrero of the Nevada women's tennis team fell to Ohio State's Anna Sanford 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round at the ITA Masters Thursday morning. Herrero will partake in the consolation singles round on Friday.

The first set started off close, with Herrero and Sanford splitting the first four games. Sanford would then pull away and win the first set 6-2. She would carry that momentum into the second set when she jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Herrero would win one more game before losing the second set 6-1 and the match 2-0.
