COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – 986 student-athletes have been named to the spring 2017 Academic All-Mountain West team, the Conference announced today. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. The Conference record of 993 spring semester honorees was set during the 2015-16 academic year.
 
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
 
The University of Nevada had 85 represented on the 2017 team, last season the Wolf Pack had 87 on the 2016 spring team. 
 
Track & field led the way for Nevada with 30 All-MW academic selections followed by swimming & diving with 15.   Baseball also had double figure honorees with 11.  Men's tennis and women's basketball were represented by six athletes.  Women's golf, softball and women's tennis placed five on the squad while men's golf had two selected to the team.
