Biography

2017-18 (Sr.): Competed in every one of Nevada’s regular season events as well as the Mountain West Championship, posting two season-best times at the conference meet … Twice recorded a 23.21 in the 50-yard freestyle, which ranks 10th in program history … Helped lead the Wolf Pack to a dual meet victory over intrastate rival UNLV, winning the 50-yard freestyle (23.75) and 100-yard butterfly (56.09) … Finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with her time of 2:10.36 in the Pack’s dual against perennial national powerhouse California … Led off Nevada’s 200-yard freestyle relay team at the MW Championship that recorded the program’s third fast time of 1:31.81 … Letterwinner.

2016-17 (Jr.): Participated in all of the Pack’s regular season meets, including the conference championships … Recorded season-bests in all three events she competed in at the MW Championships … Competed in the B finals of the conference meet in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle, as well as the 100-yard butterfly, placing in the top 15 overall in each event … Part of Nevada’s 200-yard medley relay team the finished eight at the MW Championships …. Served as the anchor in the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed sixth at the conference meet and recorded the Pack’s best time of the year (1:31.94) … Posted seven top three finishes including a victory in the 100-yard butterfly against UNLV with a time of 57.82 … Swam the Pack’s two fastest times (54.83 and 55.15) of the season in the 100-yard butterfly, the top time coming at the MW Championships … Also recorded two of the Pack’s top three times in the 50-yard freestyle … Recorded the Pack’s top time of an event eight times on the year … A Silver and Blue Scholar-Athlete … Letterwinner.

2015-16 (So.): Earned All-Mountain West honors in the pool while also earned MW Scholar-Athlete and MW All-Academic honors in the classroom … Swam in all seven regular season events and the MW Championships, competing primarily in freestyle and butterfly events … Advanced to the A final and placed eighth overall in the 100-yard butterfly at the Mountain West Championships, earning all-conference honors … Advanced to the B final and placed 16th in the 100-yard freestyle (50.77) and also advanced to the C final and placed 17th in the 50-yard freestyle (23.25) at the conference meet … Swam in three relays at the conference meet, helping the Pack finish runner-up in the 400 free relay, fourth in the 200 medley relay and sixth in the 200 free relay … Tallied nine top-three finishes on the season … Set three season-best times and tallied 12 points individually and contributed to 90 relay points at the MW Championships … Helped lead the Wolf Pack to an undefeated 10-0 record, the first Mountain West championship in program history and a top 25 CSCAA national ranking … Letterwinner.

2014-15 (Fr.): Joined the team over winter break and promptly made an impact, competing in every meet in the spring … Saw action in freestyle, butterfly and IM events on the season … Placed 10th at the Mountain West Championships with a season-best time of 4:23.60 in the 400-yard IM … Also posted season-bests times in the 100 free (50.97) and the 500 free (4:55.74) at the MW Championships … Recorded an event victory in her first collegiate meet, placing first in the 100 free with a time of 53.79 in a dual against Cal State East Bay … Posted four top-three finishes on the season … Helped Nevada tally an 8-2 dual record and place third at the MW Championships … Letterwinner.

PRIOR TO NEVADA
Attended Pacific Hills Christian School in Sydney … Competed in the 2012 Australian Olympic Trials in the 50, 100, 200 and 400 freestyle and the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke … Represented New South Wales at the Christian Schools Nationals from 2008-2013 and at the All Schools Nationals in 2009 and 2011 … Attended the University of Technology, Sydney for one year before transferring to Nevada.

Born Emma Louise Payne to parents Mark and Sue Payne … Has two sisters and one brother … Intends to major in nutritional science at Nevada … Chose to attend Nevada for the opportunity to compete in collegiate swimming.
