Pack to carry momentum into match against SDSU

Second matchup of year for two teams

RENO, Nev.  – After an efficient win over Air Force Saturday to open a homestretch, the Nevada Wolf Pack (6-16, 4-6 MW) will welcome the San Diego State Aztecs (11-12, 5-5 MW) to Virginia Street Gym Thursday night.

Match time is slated for 6:30 p.m. PT. It will be the second time the teams have matched up this year after Nevada fell to the Aztecs on Sept. 30 in three sets. Nevada recently snapped a four-match skid with a win over Air Force on Saturday in which the Wolf Pack hit a team season-high .300. Now, the Pack will look to carry that momentum and efficiency into its home gym Thursday night.

"Our offense looks the best it has all season last weekend," head coach Lee Nelson said. "We still have room to improve, obviously, but it puts us in a much better position in a lot of matches if we can hit the ball like that."

Another bright spot for Nevada is the fact that it is fielding its first full rotation since Sept. 8. Sophomore Shayla Hoeft was the latest to return from injury, putting down nine kills and three blocks while hitting .471 against Air Force.

Currently, there will be no stream of the match on the Mountain West Network, but continue to check back for details. Tickets are still available for the match by calling 348-PACK or visiting NevadaWolfPack.com.
