HENDERSON, Nev. – After two rounds of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Boulder Creek Golf Club, the Nevada women's golf team remains in the top 10.
The Wolf Pack combined for an identical team score as its first round with a 293 (+10) and has sole possession of 10
th place in the 16-team field. Tournament host UNLV fired a round two-best team score of 278 to take over the team lead at 21-under par. The Rebels have put some distance on the second place team, San Jose State, leading the Spartans by seven shots heading into Tuesday's final round.
Much like yesterday, the Wolf Pack posted a balanced round of golf with nothing worse than bogeys on its scorecard. Senior
Celyn Khoo led the Pack with the team's only under par round of the day, firing a 3-under 69, a season low. She played a flawless round of golf with three birdies and no blemishes. Khoo made all three of her birdies on the front side and is currently tied for 15
th in the 96-player field.
Senior
Jordan Keyser turned in her best round thus far of the event with a 1-over 73. Keyser made one birdie and 15 pars during her round and is tied for 39
th place. Sophomore
Jenny Krause carded a 3-over 75 on Monday and is tied for 51
st at 5-over for the tournament. Juniors
Chaithra Katamneni and
Kaitlin Collom struggled a bit today, with rounds of 76 and 78, respectively. Katamneni is currently tied for 61
st and Collom tied for 69
th.
Elizabeth Prior jumped into the individual lead after 36 holes with a round of 66 on Monday. She leads Emma Allen of Missouri and Ingrid Gutierrez of New Mexico by two strokes.
