RENO, Nev. – After two quick matches at home in which Nevada went 1-1, the Wolf Pack volleyball team (5-13, 3-3 MW) will begin its next road trip against the Wyoming Cowgirls (9-9, 4-2) Thursday night.
The Oct. 12 match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. PT in Laramie. Nevada has had recent success under head coach
Lee Nelson against Wyoming, as the Pack is 3-1 against the team since the 2015 season. One of those wins included a big road victory in which Nevada took down then No. 25 Wyoming. Thursday's showdown will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network via NevadaWolfPack.TV and watch stadium.
A bright spot for a banged up Nevada team has been the return of senior outside hitter
Madison Foley. Foley stepped up into the libero position in her first match back, filling in for an injured
Camille Davey. She took full advantage of the opportunity, racking up a career-high 24 digs in the match against New Mexico. Returning to her normal position against UNLV, Foley recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs.
Nevada has also proven it can score fast, especially in its previous two matches. The Wolf Pack currently has three players in the top 10 in the Mountain West in aces per set. The list includes sophomore
Ayla Fresenius Fresenius (6th, .32), freshman
Ashley Maki (7th, .29) and Foley (9th, .28).
