After posting her first career double-double on Saturday, Nevada women’s basketball junior Nia Alexander was named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Alexander played a key role in helping the Wolf Pack close out non-conference action with a dominant 71-40 win over Cal Poly. She aided in Nevada allowing just 40 points to the Mustangs, which is tied for seventh-fewest allowed by an opponent in program history. Additionally the Pack’s 31-point margin of victory was its largest since February of 2015.
 
Alexander recorded her first career double-double after she led the team in both points and rebounds with 14 and 10, respectively. She was especially effective on the offensive glass as she grabbed six offensive rebounds to four defensive. Alexander had a flawless afternoon from the free throw line as well, hitting all eight of her attempts. She added two assists and a career-high four steals as well.
