After helping lead the Nevada softball team to its first series win of the season, senior Aaliyah Gibson has been named the Wolf Pack’s Bradley, Drendal & Jeanney Student-Athlete of the Week. The award marks the first of her career and second weekly honor for a Wolf Pack softball player this season, as senior Erika Hansen received CollegSportsMadness.com Mountain West Player of the Week earlier this year. 
 
In the three-game series versus New Mexico, Gibson put together her best weekend of the season, batting .500 (5-for-10) with six runs scored and a home run. Along with her impressive offensive numbers, Gibson recorded four RBIs on the weekend as well, driving in at least one run in every game.
 
Gibson also ignited the Pack’s offense in the third game of the series as her bunt single in the bottom of the third was the first of 11 total hits in the inning, resulting in 13 runs scored. She later came around to record another single in the inning, tallying an RBI in the process.
