Nevada Softball sweeps Mountain West weekly honors

RENO, Nev. — The Wolf Pack swept the conference's weekly awards, with Tess Bumiller named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, Haylee Engelbrecht earning Mountain West Player of the Week, and Anna Braukus selected as the Mountain West Freshman of the Week following a powerful sweep at Colorado State.

Bumiller threw nine scoreless innings across three appearances while allowing just six hits and striking out seven. Her week was highlighted by a shutout in the series opener at Colorado State, where she scattered six hits, walked only two, and faced 28 batters without allowing a run. She added two more scoreless relief innings throughout the weekend, finishing with a perfect 0.00 ERA and holding opponents without an extra-base hit, a performance that anchored Nevada's pitching staff and set the tone for the sweep.

Engelbrecht delivered one of the most explosive offensive weeks in the conference, hitting .467 with a 1.000 slugging percentage, seven hits, six RBI, and four extra-base hits across four games. She went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, and two RBIs in Saturday's second game at Colorado State, then followed with a two-run home run and three RBIs in Sunday's finale. Engelbrecht reached base in every game, totaled 15 bases, and went a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen bases, providing consistent production from the cleanup spot and fueling Nevada's 23-run outburst in Game 2.

Braukus continued her breakout freshman campaign, batting .545 with six hits, four RBIs, and three extra-base hits while starting at both shortstop and second base. She opened the week by going 2-for-3 with two doubles against Pacific, then added a 3-for-5 performance with a home run, three runs scored, and two RBIs in Saturday's win at Colorado State. Braukus reached base in all three games she played and finished with 11 total bases.

Nevada look to host Fresno State for a three-game series from April 24-26. The weekend is highlight by Alumni Day on Saturday and Senior Day on Sunday. With the win over Colorado State, Nevada clinched a spot in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championship May 6-9 at Hixson!
