RENO, Nev. - Katie Wetteland earned her second Mountain West Freshman of the Week honor of the season, the conference announced Monday. 

Wetteland delivered an explosive offensive performance at the Jane Sanders Classic, finishing the weekend batting .647 with 11 hits, seven RBIs, and five extra‑base hits across five games. She opened the tournament with back‑to‑back three- and four‑hit outings on March 6, including a double in each game and a home run against Oregon State.

Her production didn't slow as the weekend continued. Wetteland added two more hits against Oregon State Saturday and hit another home run with three RBIs in the victory over No. 18/18 Oregon that afternoon. The win over the Ducks was Nevada's first over a top-25 opponent since 2021.

Nevada (16-9) now turns its attention to the Mountain West and home-opening series against Boise State this Friday-Sunday. Friday's series opener is set for 5:05 p.m.
