Jayce Dobie was named Mountain West Player of the Week for his performance over Nevada's 4-0 past week, the conference announced Monday.
Dobie batted .556 during the week, going 10-for-19 including three games with at least three hits. His week began with a double-duty performance in the Wolf Pack's 9-6 win at Stanford. Dobie not only started the game on the mound, striking out four in four innings of work, he also batted in the lineup going 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.
Dobie put the cap on Nevada's five-run, ninth-inning rally with an RBI single, as the Pack beat the Cardinal for the first time since 2015.
He started the weekend against Pacific with a pair of three-hit games Friday and Saturday, batting .429 (6-for-14) for the series and providing an RBI single during Friday's comeback from three down to beat the Tigers, 11-7. Nevada scored in double-digits in each contest, sweeping the Tigers to extend its 2026 record at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park to 6-0.
Through the team's first 13 games, Dobie is second on the team in batting (.396) and total bases (27) while leading the Pack in hits (21) and doubles (six).
Nevada (8-5) returns to Stanford for a rematch Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. before traveling to Fresno to open the defense of its Mountain West title. The weekend series with the Bulldogs begins Friday at 6:05 p.m.
