DAVIS, Calif. - Nevada Men's Tennis picked up two wins on its first day of the Golden Gate Invitational, defeating New Mexico State and Portland by matching 4-0 scores.

Nevada (7-2) will go for an unbeaten weekend as it wraps the trip with a 10 a.m. first serve against Hawai'i.

Against the Aggies in the morning, the Wolf Pack quickly took the doubles points as Max Contet and Axel Huysmans made quick work of their opponents, 6-1, at No. 3, with Greg Valente and Rémy Trégourès taking a 6-4 win at No. 2.

The bottom half of the lineup came up with key wins in both matches, beginning with the morning dual. Against the Aggies, Valente took a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5, while at No. 6 Nicolas Recoura recorded a straight-sets win of his own, 6-4, 6-4 over Patrick Lohmann. Axel Huysmans' 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 was the final singles win and the victory point.

In the afternoon, singles wins at Nos. 5 and 6 again carried the Pack. This time, against Portland, it was Contet with the 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 5 and Sebastiano Cressi with a 6-0, 7-6 (5) victory at No. 6 that spurred Nevada's 4-0 win.

Doubles went the distance, with Nevada getting the point thanks to repeat wins from Valente and Trégourès at No. 2 and Contet and Huysmans at No. 3.
