RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Basketball is set to face Fresno State in the first round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Las Vegas.
The Pack enters the tournament as the No. 10 seed, ending the regular season with an overall record of 10-20 and a conference record of 6-14. Fresno State will be the No. 7 seed with an overall record of 14-17 and a conference record of 8-12.
Nevada last faced Utah State on the road on Tuesday, ending the regular season with a 72-69 overtime win over the Aggies.Â
Ahrray Young and
Skylar Durley both had standout performances, recording a double-double and a career high in scoring, respectively. Young had 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds. She shot 50 percent from the floor and from beyond the arc, as well as 100 percent from the line. Durley had a career high 22 points with six rebounds.Â
Nevada as a team had 51 rebounds, the most all season, while Utah State had 38.Â
The Pack had strong first and third quarters, with multiple long runs to help give the advantage. After Utah State tied it up in the final seconds of regulation, Nevada held the Aggies to just four points in OT.
Fresno State is heading into the tournament after a loss to New Mexico, 86-64.
The Bulldogs were outscored in every quarter except for the third. As a team, they struggled from the charity stripe, shooting just 66.7 percent. From three, they shot 35.7 percent, while shooting 41 percent from the floor.
Fresno State recorded 29 rebounds to New Mexico's 34.Â
Danae Powell led all players in scoring with 27 points. She also pulled in six boards to lead the Bulldogs. Emilia Long contributed 11 points and five rebounds.Â
In the regular season, Nevada fell in both matchups with Fresno State. The teams first faced off in mid-January in Reno with a final of 54-44, and next met in Fresno a few weeks later with a final of 71-51.
The winner of Saturday's game will face No. 2 seed UNLV on Sunday at 5 p.m.
