LOGAN, Utah - Nevada Women's Basketball will close out its regular season on Tuesday at Utah State with tip set for 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT.
The Pack last faced New Mexico at home, falling to the Lobos in a tight battle, 63-56.
Nevada had a strong first quarter, shooting over 81 percent from the floor and holding a two-point lead into the second. The Pack continued to have the advantage heading into the break before beginning to lose its momentum in the second half.
Turnovers and rebounds were a weak spot for Nevada. The Lobos scored 19 points off of 16 turnovers by the Pack. New Mexico also won the rebounding battle, most specifically offense, which created more opportunities for the Lobos. The Pack had 30 rebounds to their 36, 13 of those for New Mexico being offensive.
Skylar Durley led the Pack in scoring and rebounds with 16 and six, respectively.
Ahrray Young followed in scoring with 10 points, while
Britain Backus had eight and five boards.
Utah State is entering the game after last falling to Boise State, 75-59.
The Aggies were outscored in every quarter except for the second, where both teams dropped 15 points. At the end of the first 20 minutes, Utah State was only down by two, before Boise State created distance in the second half.
Utah State was also outrebounded, with 29 boards to Boise State's 38.
Aaliyah Gayles led in scoring for the Aggies with 16 points, followed by Elise Livingston with 13 and Rachel Wilson with 12. Livingston led in rebounds with four.
The last time Nevada and Utah State faced off was at the beginning of January in Reno. The Pack walked away on top in that game, 58-40.
Tuesday's game will be the final one of the regular season before Nevada heads to the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas this weekend.
