Nevada opens NIT play against Murray State at Lawlor Events Center

RENO, Nev. - For the sixth time in program history, Nevada is playing in the National Invitational Tournament. The Pack earned the No. 2 seed in the Auburn region and will face the Murray State Racers on Wednesday, March 18, at Lawlor Events Center.

Pack fans can watch the contest at 7 p.m. on ESPN+ with Derek Jones (play-by-play) and John Williams (analyst) on the call.

The radio broadcast can be heard on 95.5 KNEV in Reno and through the Varsity Network App, featuring John Ramey (play-by-play) and Nick Fazekas (analyst).

UP NEXT
With a win, Nevada has a chance to host the winner of No. 3 seed George Mason/Liberty on either Saturday or Sunday, March 21-22, in the second round of the NIT.

LAST TIME OUT
Nevada is coming off a 79-66 loss in the semifinals of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship against Utah State on Friday afternoon.

As a team, the Pack shot 41 percent from the field, 26 percent from three, and 65 percent from the line. Vaughn Weems and Chuck Bailey III led the Pack offense in the double digits with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Weems tied his career high to lead the team in rebounds with nine.

The Aggies' offense shot 45 percent from the field, 21 percent from beyond the arc, and 77 percent from the line. Kaleb Lowery, Tayshawn Comer, and Weems led the defense with two steals apiece.

Nevada outscored Utah State in bench points with 25-21 and points from second chance, 11-7.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
Murray State is coming off a 92-79 loss to the UIC Flames at the State Farm Arch Madness - Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Thursday evening.

Javon Jackson led the Racers offense with 30 points. Mason Miller, Roman Domon, and Fred King also contributed in the score in double digits, with 12, 11, and 10, respectively.

The MSU offense struggled, shooting 37 percent from the field, while UIC managed to shoot 54 percent. The Racers were also out-rebounded 42-32 against the Flames.

Trailing 50-32 at halftime, the Racers couldn't cut the deficit in the second half, only getting as close as 14 points with 3:07 remaining.

PACK VS RACERS FIRST MATCHUP
This will mark the first-ever meeting between the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Murray State Racers.

The Racers opened the season strong, jumping out to a 16–3 record that included a 12-game winning streak under first-year head coach Ryan Miller in his debut season at the helm. Murray State finished the year with a 12–8 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play, earning a share of third place in the league standings.

Three Racers earned All-MVC honors this season, led by Fred King, Roman Domon, and Javon Jackson. King was named MVC Newcomer of the Year while also earning spots on the MVC All-Newcomer Team and All-Defensive Team. Domon had a breakout campaign, being recognized as MVC Freshman of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year while also landing on the MVC All-Freshman Team, All-Bench Team, and the All-MVC Third Team. Jackson, the Racers' leading scorer, was named to the All-MVC Second Team.

CAMPER NABC SECOND TEAM ALL-DISTRICT HONORS
Corey Camper Jr. continues to stack up his season awards. The Little Rock, Ark. native garnered Second Team All-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The honor is awarded to the top players across each district and is voted on by member coaches of the NABC.

Representing the Mountain District, Camper Jr. was recognized after a standout final collegiate season with the Pack.
