LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Nevada dominates Air Force, 80-45, in the first round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Basketball Championship to advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The 35-point margin of victory is the largest in Mountain West Conference Tournament history, surpassing the previous record set by San Diego State in a 73–39 win over Utah State in March 2014.
With 12 of 14 players scoring, the Pack shot 46 percent from the field, 25 percent from three, and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
Corey Camper Jr. and
Chuck Bailey III led the way in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively, while Camper Jr. and
Vaughn Weems paced the team on the glass with five rebounds each.
Kaleb Lowery led the team in assists with 4 recorded, which ties his career high in the category.
Elijah Price made his impact on the defense, leading the team with three steals and two blocks.
Nevada dominated across several key categories, outscoring Air Force in points off turnovers (25–9), points in the paint (34–28), second-chance points (11–4), fast-break points (17–2), and bench points (39–22).
First Half:
Nevada started off strong in the opening half, a three-point jumper from
Vaughn Weems put the Pack up 13-0, forcing Air Force to call a timeout.
The Pack continued to control the game, and a made layup by
Corey Camper Jr. extended the lead to 18-4.
Nevada went on a 10-0 run to extend their lead to 26-4.
The Pack closed the half on top with a 39-10 lead.
Vaughn Weems led the offense with eight points, followed by
Elijah Price and
Corey Camper Jr. with six apiece.
Second Half:
The Pack continued to control the pace against the Falcons, extending the lead to 50-14.
Nevada did not slow down, putting up a 44-point lead for an 80-36 score.
A made layup by
Chuck Bailey III solidified the Pack's 80-45 victory over the Air Force Falcons.
