Junhyuk Kwon hit his first two home runs of the season and Nevada banged out 16 hits to close its series at UC Davis with an 11-5 win Sunday.
Kwon's solo homer to lead off the fourth upped Nevada's lead to 5-3, then his two-run shot an inning later opened it up to a five-run advantage as the Wolf Pack (4-5) cruised from there.
Kwon and
Jake Harvey each drove in three runs on the day, and Kwon was one of three Wolf Pack batters, along with
Sean Yamaguchi and
Jayce Dobie, with three hits.
Jordan Giacomini weathered a three-run Aggie third to last six innings and strike out six to pick up his first win.
Rominic Quiban opened the scoring for Nevada with an RBI double in the second. An inning later, RBI singles from Yamaguchi and
Sam Kane along with a sacrifice fly from Harvey boosted made for a three-run third and a 4-0 lead.
Evan Gentil hit a two-out, three-run homer for UC Davis (5-5) in the bottom of the third to bring the Aggies to within a run before Giacomini got a groundout to end the frame.
Kane drove in his second run in the eighth, and Harvey added a two-run single to add insurance for the Pack.
Nevada heads to Stanford for a Monday afternoon matchup with the Cardinal. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. from Klein Field at Sunken Diamond.
