BATON ROUGE, La. — Nevada's offense set the tone early and never let up, powering the Wolf Pack to an 8–0 run‑rule victory over Lamar in five innings on Sunday at the Tiger Classic.
The Pack opened the scoring in the top of the first inning when
Katie Wetteland singled to right field, allowing
Saige Alfaro to come home for a quick 1–0 lead. Nevada kept the momentum rolling in the second. With
Madison Clark on third and
Karolyn Glover on second, Alfaro delivered again—this time with a two‑RBI single that extended the advantage to 3–0. Moments later,
Hannah Di Genova added an RBI single of her own, bringing Alfaro in to make it 4–0. Wetteland then pushed the lead to 5–0 after capitalizing on a Lamar error.
Nevada broke the game open in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded,
Lexi O'Gorman roped a double into the gap, scoring
Haylee Engelbrecht,
Rylie Haith, and Di Genova to stretch the margin to 8–0 and put the Pack firmly in control.
Madison Clark led the Wolf Pack at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, while Alfaro drove in two runs and reached base in four of her five plate appearances.
In the circle,
Tess Bumiller and
Sofie Seese combined to limit Lamar to just one hit. Bumiller picked up the win, going four innings of one-hit ball with two strikeouts.
