Box Score FRESNO, Calif. - Nevada Women's Basketball faced Fresno State on the road on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Bulldogs, 71-51.
The Wolf Pack (7-16, 3-10 MW) fell into a hole in the first quarter that it struggled to get out of through the rest of the game after the Bulldogs (12-13, 6-8 MW) went on a 15-0 within the first few minutes of the opening quarter. Nevada played from behind by double-digits for 35 out of the 40 minutes of play.Â
Neither team shot well from the line, both shooting under 68 percent. The Pack was also outrebounded, grabbing 21 boards to the Bulldogs' 38.
One bright spot for Nevada was forcing Fresno State to turn the ball over 22 times.Â
Izzy Sullivan kicked things off with a three in the corner before Nevada fell into a scoring drought of nearly seven minutes. In that time, Fresno State went on its run, going up by as much as 15. The Pack only scored two more times through the opening 10.Â
Nevada doubled its scoring in the second quarter, going from only seven points in the first to 14.Â
The third quarter was Nevada's best. The Pack outscored the Bulldogs, 18-17, while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 75 percent from beyond the arc and cut the lead to nine.
Despite holding Fresno State without a field goal for the final three minutes of the game, it was too late as Nevada had fallen behind by as much as 22.
Skylar Durley led the Pack in scoring and rebounds with 17 points and six boards.Â
Nevada will return home to face Air Force on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
