Nevada wins Saturday night battle against Fresno State

RENO, Nev. - Nevada's defense made the difference in the game to help the team secure a 69-59 victory over Fresno State on Saturday night in Lawlor Events Center.

The Pack held the Bulldogs to 36 percent from the field and 31 percent from three.

Corey Camper Jr. and Vaughn Weems led the Wolfpack offense with 15 points apiece while also recording five rebounds and four rebounds, respectively. Tyler Rolison followed with 11 points and five assists off the bench, making key plays at the end of the game to help the Pack secure the win.

Nevada won the battle in the paint 28-14, while outscoring Fresno's bench 16-4. Kaleb Lowery made his impact on the game with 9 rebounds of the team's 43 total rebounds.

First Half:
Fresno State started off strong with a 15-9 lead going into the first media timeout.

The Bulldogs continued to control the game, but the Pack were able to cut the deficit to 4 with a second-chance three-pointer by Corey Camper Jr.

The Pack didn't back down, tying the game, 28-28, with a made jumper by Kaleb Lowery to close the half.

Second Half:
The Bulldogs came out strong, putting up a six-point lead early in the second half.

Nevada tied the game 45-45 with a three-point jumper from Camper Jr. to light up Lawlor.

After a 13-2 run, the Pack gained its first lead of the game with 2 free throws made by Tyler Rolison.

Nevada pulled out an 11-point lead to close the game with a 69-59 victory over Fresno State.

Up next:
Nevada hits the road for back-to-back games, starting on Saturday, Feb. 14, against San Diego State, followed by San José State on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Both tip-offs are set for 7 p.m.
