SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Nevada (17-8; 9-5 MW) dropped game on the road against San Diego State (18-6; 12-2 MW) on Saturday evening.
Elijah Price led the team offense with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Price was followed by
Corey Camper Jr. with 16 points and five rebounds. Both Price and Camper Jr. recorded two steals, while Kaley Lowery and
Joel Armotrading had one blocked shot to help the team's defense.
The Pack was unable to stop the Aztecs' offense, as they shot 43 percent from the field, 32 percent from beyond the arc, and 94 percent from the free throw line. While the Pack shot 33 percent from the field, 25 percent from three, and 74 percent from the line, adding a total of 35 rebounds.
The Aztecs won the bench battle against the Pack, 31-9, and points from turnovers, 23-10, while the Pack scored 17-13 in points from second chances.
How it happened:
First Half:
Nevada started off strong with back-to-back threes.
San Diego State responded by tying the game, 6-6, and gaining control of the game.
The Pack tied the game 11-11 on a made jumper by Camper Jr.
The Aztecs went on a 14-point run to extend their lead, forcing the Pack to call a timeout.
San Diego State kept control of the game to close the half 36-25.
Second Half:
The Pack started off the half strong with a 13-point run to tie the game 38-38.
The Aztecs responded with a 13-0 run to take the lead.
San Diego State continued to battle to put them ahead by the largest lead of the game, 21 points.
The Aztecs closed out the game with a 71-57 victory over the Pack.
