Nevada set for rivalry showdown against UNLV

RENO, Nev. - Looking to continue the momentum after a 67-60 win against the New Mexico Lobos in Lawlor Events Center, Nevada is going on the road to face the UNLV Runnin' Rebels on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Pack fans can watch the contest at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network with Chris Lewis (play-by-play) and John Henson (analyst) on the call.

The radio broadcast can be heard on 95.5 KNEV in Reno and through the Varsity Network App, featuring John Ramey and Nick Fazekas.

UP NEXT
The Pack will continue on the road to face Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., on March 3 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Nevada Wolf Pack (19-9; 11-6 MW) secured a 67-60 victory over the New Mexico Lobos (21-7; 12-5 MW) on Tuesday afternoon at Lawlor Events Center.
Elijah Price, Corey Camper Jr., and Vaughn Weems combined for 61 out of the 67 points to lead the offense. Price recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Camper Jr. and Weems scored 20 points apiece with eight and six rebounds, respectively. The 20 points marked a career high for Weems.
Defensively, Elijah Price recorded four blocks while Tayshawn Comer led the team with three steals.
Nevada shot 40 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range, and 73 percent from the free throw line while holding New Mexico to 38 percent shooting, 29 percent from deep, and 57 percent at the line.
The Pack held the edge in points off turnovers (14-12) and points in the paint (28-24).

RUNNIN' REBELS REMATCH
Last time Nevada and UNLV faced each other, the Pack dominated the match, 89-76, on January 30 in Lawlor Events Center.
Nevada led from start to finish with Corey Camper Jr. (32 points and 4 rebounds) and Elijah Price (22 points and 11 rebounds) setting a new career high to lead the Pack offense. Vaughn Weems also made his impact with nine points and four rebounds. Tayshawn Comer set the pace in the backcourt with eight assists.
As a team, the Pack shot 58 percent from the field, 57 percent from three, and 74 percent from the line. Camper Jr. led the defense with 3 steals, and was followed by Weems with two.
The Pack dominated the paint, 36-24, and forced the Runnin' Rebels into 10 turnovers and scored 19 points from them.

SCOUTING UNLV
After trailing by 20 points in the first half, the UNLV Runnin' Rebels fell 80-67 against Grand Canyon on Wednesday evening.
Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn led the way with 30 points while Howie Fleming Jr. and Tyrin Jones contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively. Fleming Jr. added six rebounds, while Dra had four in the game.
UNLV cut the deficit to just six points on a Gibbs-Lawhorn 3-pointer with 2:51 on the clock, but it was the closest they were able to get from the Lopes.

CAMPER JR. IN THE 1,000-POINT CLUB
After dropping 18 points against San Jose State on February 17, Corey Camper Jr. officially joined the 1,000-point club, reaching a major milestone in his collegiate career.
The Little Rock, Ark., native scored 612 points across two seasons at UTEP before transferring to Nevada, where he has added 388 points so far this season.

PRICE PASSES 500 CAREER BOARDS
Elijah Price reached a major milestone in Nevada's win over Utah State on Feb. 21, surpassing 500 career rebounds with 12 boards in the game.
The redshirt sophomore's consistency on the glass has made him a key presence inside, securing crucial rebounds on both ends of the floor.
Earlier this season, Price set a career high with 19 rebounds against Southern Illinois, the most by a Nevada player since 2016 and the best single-game effort under head coach Steve Alford.

NEVADA'S DEPTH
Nevada's depth has been a key factor in its success this season, as it consistently brings energy to both sides of the ball.
The Pack has a 10-3 record, with more bench points than its opponents this season.

FRESHMAN SPARK
Nevada's freshmen continue to make an impact this season.
Peyton White has appeared in 27 games, averaging 15.3 minutes, with career highs of 15 points vs. UC Davis and nine rebounds vs. UC San Diego.
Ethan Croley recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) against San Francisco, the program's first by a freshman since 2023.
Myles Walker has added depth in the backcourt, totaling 31 points, 34 assists, 17 rebounds, and 13 steals in 25 games.

PRICE ON THE GLASS
Elijah Price continues to anchor the rim and rank among the Mountain West's best. He has 253 rebounds, ranking second in the league, and first in blocks (51).
The redshirt sophomore also ranks in the top three in both defensive (6.32) and offensive (2.71) rebounds per game.

LEADING THE PACK
Corey Camper Jr. continues to lead the Pack offense. Camper Jr. has 428 points (17.8 per game) and 100 rebounds (4.3 per game).
Corey Camper Jr. reached several career milestones this season, highlighted by a 35-point performance on February 3 against Boise State, in which he knocked down 14 field goals.
The Little Rock, Ark., native also set career bests with five three-pointers made against Boise State, UNLV, and Wyoming, and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against Air Force.

PACK IN THE RANKINGS
Nevada remains among the Mountain West and the country's best across several statistical categories.
Led by Elijah Price, Nevada leads the conference in free throws made (19.3) and free-throw attempts per game (25.5), and is third in the Mountain West in blocks per game (3.9).
The Pack is ranked second in the conference in three-point percentage (37.3), just behind Colorado State.

EFFICIENCY IS KEY
Nevada has been tremendous at taking care of the ball this season, leading the conference with 9.9 turnovers per game, as the Pack has combined for 276 turnovers through 28 games.
The Pack has had 10 or fewer turnovers in 18 of 28 games this season.
