ABOUT UC DAVIS
UC Davis (3-5) took two of three at home against Santa Clara last weekend before suffering a 7-2 loss at California Wednesday night.
The Aggies are batting just .184 over its first eight games, with Evan Gential the only player over .300 as he has a .333 mark. Gentil is one of six Aggie batters with one homer and one of four with five RBIs. Ryan Lee, also with a homer and five RBIs, is batting .269.
On the hill, Saturday starter Keenan Anzai is 2-0 and will make his first start of the campaign. Friday starter Noel Valdez is 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA and seven strikeouts over nine innings, while closer Rowen Barnes has already picked up two saves.
AGAINST THE AGGIES & CARDINAL
Nevada leads the all-time series with UC Davis, 53-38, although the Aggies took both meetings last season--a 3-1 win in Davis and a 12-6 victory in Reno.
This weekend's three-game series with UC Davis will be the first since 1990--wild to think about, considering the schools are just 148 miles apart, roughly a two-and-a-half hour drive.
The Wolf Pack are 8-21 overall against Stanford, with the last meeting coming in 2015, a 6-5 win for the Cardinal.
