HOUSTON, Texas - Nevada put together a successful second day at the Credit Union 1 2026 Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships, earning three individual titles.
Diver
Bailey Heydra claimed her eighth-career Mountain West medal and third gold by capturing the 3-Meter Springboard for the first time. The gold, along with her silver on 1-Meter Wednesday, gives her two medals already this weekend and puts her right at the front of the Diver of the Meet conversation.
Scarlett Ferris and
Moji Pholjamjumrus punched their tickets to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships by hitting NCAA qualifying standards while capturing their respective conference finals.
The evening finals brought major results for Nevada. Ferris won her first Mountain West title in the 100 butterfly, setting both the conference record and the Nevada program record with a time of 51.34, which also came in as an NCAA qualifying standard. Pholjamjumrus added another title shortly after, where she was named the Mountain West Champion in the 400 IM in 4:11.07, another NCAA qualifying standard.
In the 200 freestyle, Batbayar earned a podium finish by placing third. With her bronze medal, she has now medaled two years running in the event (gold in 2025).
Nevada closed the night with its third gold medal. Heydra used a strong final dive in the championship final to claim the 3-Meter Springboard with a score of 377.00. It was her third-career medal in the event, following silvers in 2023 and 2025.
The Pack opened the morning in the 400-yard IM, where Pholjamjumrus advanced to the championship final, and
Isabelle Gomez qualified for the B-final. Nevada followed with another strong event in the 200-yard freestyle, as Huska Batbayar secured a spot in the championship final, and
Sally Vagg moved on to the C-final.
Nevada continued to build momentum in the 100-yard butterfly. Ferris earned a place in the championship final, while Caitlyn Wham and
Sally Vagg both qualified for the B-final. The Pack closed prelims on the boards with Heydra advancing to the championship final in the 3-meter springboard and
Izzy Wright earning a B‑final position.
After the second night of the four-day meet, Nevada climbed one spot into fourth place on the team leaderboard with 435.5 points.
Nevada returns to the pool tomorrow as the Mountain West Championships continue in Houston. Prelims begin at 8:30 a.m. PT with the evening finals session set for a 4 p.m. PT start.
