This Week In Wolf Pack Athletics

RENO, Nev. - The first of four-straight weekends of Mountain West Championships begins as Nevada Swimming & Diving heads to Houston for the conference meet Wednesday through Saturday. Men's Basketball hosts a pivotal matchup against Utah State Saturday night at Lawlor, and home events are capped by Nevada Baseball's home-opening weekend beginning Thursday against Utah Valley.

Men's Golf gets its spring underway Monday at The Prestige at PGA West while Softball plays a non-conference game at No. 15/16 Arizona Tuesday before heading to Palm Springs for the Mary Nutter Classic.

2026 Mountain West Championships

Nevada Swimming & Diving heads to Houston for the 2026 Mountain West Championships, set for Wednesday through Saturday at CRWC Natatorium in Houston. Scarlett Ferris looks for a three-peat of her 100 backstroke titles while Huska Batbayar (200 freestyle) and diver Bailey Heydra (1-meter springboard) will defend their 2025 event crowns, with Heydra going for her third-career MW title on 1-Meter.

Action at the championships begins Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. PT with the morning prelims featuring the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 free, and 1-meter springboard.

Prelims each of the four days will begin at 8:30 a.m. PT with the evening finals session set to begin at 4 p.m. PT. All action can be watched on the Mountain West Network and via the MW App.

Nevada is looking to bounce back after dropping a road matchup, 71-57, against San Diego State on Saturday evening. The Pack will continue Mountain West play on the road as they face San José State, Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Pack fans can watch the contest at 7 p.m. on Mountain West Network with Ben Ross (play-by-play) and Dennis Ackerman (analyst) on the call.

The radio broadcast can be heard on 95.5 KNEV in Reno and through the Varsity Network App, featuring John Ramey and Nick Fazekas.

Nevada returns to Lawlor Events Center for matchups against Utah State and New Mexico. The game against the Aggies is set for Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., while the Pack will face the Lobos on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m.

Nevada Women's Basketball hits the road for both matchups this week, beginning Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. PT at Colorado State. Following the clash with the Rams, the Wolf Pack will head to Las Vegas for a Silver State Series rematch with the Lady Rebels Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Pack picked up a 76-59 victory at Lawlor last Wednesday against Air Force, stopping its seven-game slide. Izzy Sullivan scored 17 points to lead three Wolf Pack players scoring in double digits in the contest.

Nevada (0-3) opens its 2026 home slate with a four-game weekend series against Utah Valley. Thursday's opener and Friday's contest are set for a 3:05 p.m. starts, with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch Saturday and 11:05 a.m. for Sunday's finale.

All four games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and MW App. Nevada fans can also get the audio broadcast on The Varsity Network with Wolf Pack Baseball alumnus Zak Basch on the call.

Wolf Pack Softball comes off a weekend at the Littlewood Invitational in Tempe, Arizona in which it went 3-2. The Pack has another five-game week ahead of it, beginning Tuesday night at No. 15/16 Arizona before heading to Palm Springs for the 2026 Mary Nutter Classic.

At the Mary Nutter Classic, Nevada wil open Thursday against Oregon State before a big Friday doubleheader against California and No. 9/11 UCLA. Nevada closes the weekend Saturday against UC Riverside.

Nevada Men's Golf opens its spring schedule Monday at The Prestige at PGA West, hosted by Stanford and UC Davis. The Pack will play three rounds of stroke-play over three days Monday through Wednesday.

The tournament is the first of four this spring for the Wolf Pack ahead of the 2026 Mountain West Championships from May 3-5.

Utah Invitational

Nevada Skiing travels to Park City for its final regular-season meet, taking part in two days of the Utah Invitational and a day of Giant Slalom RMISA qualifiers from Feb. 22-24.

The competition will begin with two days of Giant Slalom Sunday and Monday, with the latter being a RMISA qualifer. Tuesday's action will be Slalom for the Utah Invitational.
